Dr. Seanita Scott
Dr. Seanita Scott is a proud alumna of Howard University and Syracuse University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy respectively. Dr. Scott earned a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary where she completed her dissertation on the Superwoman Schema, Purpose Based Identity and Performance Based Identity among Black women in Christian Leadership. Throughout her career, Dr. Scott has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, college counseling, community mental health, and church based mental health. Dr. Scott believes in the transformative power of therapy to assist people in feeling seen, heard, and supported along the process of accomplishing their goals as well as to celebrate the wins and process the inevitable losses that life brings. Dr. Scott loves destigmatizing mental health challenges and serving historically underserved populations who stigmatize therapy due to cultural, religious, or familial reasons. Dr. Scott is especially passionate about women of color, their mental health, and their holistic wellbeing. She specializes in helping her clients manage symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, and life transitions, and overwhelm so they can have a life of joy, purpose, and fulfillment.
Dr. Scott approaches therapy from an integrative perspective which means she looks at mental health from an individual, familial, cultural, societal, and spiritual perspective. She practices from a primarily client centered perspective and draws from cognitive behavioral therapy and womanist psychology to meet clients where they are and also encourage them to be creative in striving for more.

Individuals & Relationship Counseling

Dr. Seanita Scott is an out of network provider. She is under the direction of Joy Ssebikindu, LPC, CPCS and under the clinical supervision of Dr. Marcuetta Sims.
Psychotherapy Intake
The initial intake will be charged at $225 per session for individuals and $250 for couple/family depending on the tenure of provider. You can expect a typical intake to last between 50-55 minutes.
Individual, Couples and Family Psychotherapy
Counseling fees are based on a 50-minute counseling session. The fee for individual counseling is $200 per session after initial intake, and family counseling (two or more individuals) is $225 per session depending on the tenure of provider. Later appointments (7:00pm or after) are subject to additional cost for individual and for family sessions (two or more individuals).
Parenting Consultations (without adolescent)
We do believe in maintaining a collaborative relationship with the entire family within the limits of confidentiality. There may be times where it is more appropriate to meet with one or both parents of an adolescent that we are working with. The fee for this 50-min session is $225.
Payment
All major credit cards, cash and/or checks are acceptable forms of payment. HSA/FSA funding is also accepted. Payment is due at the time of service.
Cancellation Policy
The providers at Anchored Wellness & Psychotherapy have a 24-hour cancellation policy. No show/late cancel notifications are subject to the full cost of the session. In the event of an emergency, please contact the office for further feedback.
